EZIDEK products will meet the following standards respectively:

  • Concrete quality shall satisfy the requirements of AS3600.
  • All workmanship and materials shall be in accordance with AS3600.
  • Steel Reinforcing Bars shall comply with AS1302-1991.
  • Steel Reinforcing Mesh fabric shall comply with AS1303-1991.

The EZIDEK BEAMS are conveniently off loaded from the delivery vehicle and stacked safely in a level location clear from main thoroughfares and away from overhanging structures or adjacent work platforms.

The EZIDEK BEAMS must be stacked clear from the ground, and BE supported by blocks (100 x 75 timbers) at 2.4 M. centres.

The EZIDEK BEAMS are to have been provided with a minimum of 14 days curing period, before delivery to site.

The EZIDEK BEAMS are to be manufactured with no sharp or protruding features, but must be thoroughly checked before delivery as additional protection.

All EZIDEK BEAMS are fitted with and RFID tags and barcoded serial number to signify that all manufactured product have been subjected to EZIDEK Quality Assurance checks, and that the company standards of manufacture specified have been achieved.

By using the RFID technology we can track every Beam forever. When the Beams arrive on site we can cross check them with the delivery documentation, we can simply determine where every Beam is and where it was manufactured, what the temperature was on the day it was made, who the EZIDEK staff were who manufactured the Beam, the cement test results, plus much more.

At EZIDEK, our quality control is paramount to our success.

Edges to the base band of concrete are Colour-coded before delivery, to define their designed location on-site strictly in accordance with the BEAM Layout, as prepared by the Registered Structural Design Engineer.

EZIDEK trades-people are instructed to carefully manoeuvre the lightweight product about the site.

An initial working platform consisting of three BEAMS and two void formers, can be set up by typically working from, a position adjacent to the location of the designed layout of those BEAMS.

The Open-web Truss Reinforcement shall be extended a minimum of 50mm (steel) or 70mm (masonry, concrete) onto LOAD-BEARING support structures.

All EZIDEK CVF's delivered to site are to be certified by the manufacturer to comply with the minimum Quality Assurance requirements specified by EZIDEK.

BEAMS are placed on the top of LOAD-BEARING walls, manoeuvred to their intended position via a simple step-up working platform, at a max of 1.50M from the floor.

EZIDEK BEAMS are to be immediately propped with the minimum row of support props as recommended by the Structural Engineers details.

Mesh Reinforcement is placed over and tied to the top member of the BEAMS in a method no different to conventional top mesh reinforcement placement.

Additional Support Chairs can be provided for the Mesh Reinforcement at a rate of one Chair per Void-former in width, and one support per lineal metre in length.

Care and attention is to be undertaken during the course of storing, lifting, manoeuvring, and the final placement of the Mesh Reinforcement.

The placement of the Reinforcement Mesh and BEAMS is to be only executed by workers experienced or fully trained in the practice of concrete slab construction.

Reinforcing Fabric shall be lapped by Two traverse wires, plus 50mm.

All conduits and the like service installations are to be placed under the Top Chord of the PLANK to ensure sufficient cover to the Mesh Reinforcement.

The finished Concrete shall be a dense and homogenous mass completely filling the formwork thoroughly embedding the reinforcement and free of stone pockets.

All Concrete shall be thoroughly compacted and vibrated with mechanical vibrators.

Plasterboard Ceiling linings can be fixed directly to the underside of the lattice girders by way of 40mm laminate screws, combined with solvent free Plasterboard glue applied to a thickness of 15mm set to a 500mm grid.

To overcome inherent long term creep associated with Reinforced Suspended Concrete Floors, timber battening to Ceiling linings is recommended to ensure an even level surface.

A Plastic (Forticon) membrane can be wrapped over the CVF's (under wet areas etc) to allow for the easy removal of the CVF's (if required) to accommodate Plumbing Stacks and other services if required.
