The latest requirements of the building code of australia (BCA2007) require the maximum values for the “spread of flame index” between floors in various classes of construction.

This relates to multi-level, multiple sole-occupancy units, (multi-level apartment buildings (BCA2007, Class-2 construction).

Class-2 construction, in BCA2007, the ‘above’ maximum values are, as per the following:

  • Spread of flame index = 0 (zero)

The EZIDEK suspended floor system has been independently field/measured/tested in completed construction to satisfy the ‘above’ provisions of the BCA2007.

FIRE RATING

The latest requirements of the building code of australia (BCA2007) require minimum levels of fire resistance between floors in various classes of construction.

The most stringent of these relates to multi-level, multiple sole-occupancy units, (multi-level apartment buildings (BCA2007, Class-2 construction).

In BCA2007, Class-2 construction, the fire resistance f/r/l value is dependant on number of floors, as per the following: -

Rise in stories 3 or more type-A construction
Rise in stories 2 type-B construction

Type-A construction, in BCA2007, the fire resistance f/r/l value is:

  1. F/r/l            =          90/90/90

Type-B construction, in BCA2007, the fire resistance f/r/l value is:

  1. F/r/l            =          30/30/30

In cases where there is mixed construction ie: basement carparks (BCA2007, Class-7 construction) in residential (BCA2007, Class-2 construction) developments, where Class-7 the fire resistance f/r/l value is:

  1. F/r/l            =          120/120/120

The EZIDEK suspended floor system has been independently field/measured/tested in completed construction to satisfy the 120/120/120, 90/90/90 & 30/30/30 f/r/l provisions of the BCA2007.
